Happy Easter and my first workshop details!

Happy Easter everyone!

While my son, Connor, was napping, I decided to whip up some Happy Easter cards for the family function I was attending.  I was happy and impressed with how fast they came together.  I think it took me less than an hour from start to finish.  I have to apologize for the picture quality.  The flash has gone out on my camera and I haven't the funds to replace the camera yet.  Works great with no flash in good light though.

Cricut Cartridge: Serenade

My first workshop!

I have finally scheduled my first workshop for April 18th from Noon - 3pm at Forza's on Pearl St in Tacoma.  We will be making the awesome Tri-Shutter albums that have previously been featured here and here on my blog.  The workshop fee is $12.  You have your choice of papers either You Rock, Caboodle or Veranda.  I have posted some slideshows below.  Please note the Veranda and You Rock albums haven't been embellished yet but you will have a ton of different embellies to do with as you choose at the workshop.

If you would like to attend, please email me at angievcrafts at gmail dot com!  If you are one of my friends from out of town and would like to do this workshop, I can ship a kit to you with all the goodies for the same price - shipping included!

Hope to see you there!

Deja Vu?

So what have been I up to this weekend?  Like me, you might be feeling a sense of Deja Vu.  My project this weekend consisted of recreating the Caboodle Tri-Shutter album I already made for my grandmother.  This time I made one for my father.

What is different this time?  I changed which papers were prime on this one.  I wanted to make sure to emphasize the blues as I think the last time was too green focused.  I didn't actually embellish this one much.

Supplies used:
Cardstock:  Bazill Basics, CTMH: Crystal Blue, Sweet Leaf and Buttercup
Paper:  Caboodle by CTMH
Stampset:  Posterboard Alpha
Ink:  CTMH Crystal Blue
Ribbon:  Michael's Bulk

What is up for me next?  I got this great idea (inspired by a fellow CTMH blogger) to go project by project from the Wishes book.  I am going to start working on that.  Hopefully I will have a couple of cards to show you this week.  I am also going to try to do a 2 page layout once a week too.

Grandma's Mini Album

Recently I have fallen in love with Tri-Shutter albums.  You can find album kits on the internet selling for about $35 but a couple of CTMH consultants reverse engineered them and provided templates.  My mom requested that I do a mini album for my Grandmother's bday and I immediately thought of a Tri-Shutter album.  The inspiration for the album was the letters of Connor's name in the bold plaid. The album was designed around that.one element.

Finishing this mini-album was really an organic process and as I was adhering photos and paper, I thought of slipping the DVD I was making separately into the center.  To attach the DVD, I pierced a length of ribbon with a brad and then poked the ribbon through the center portion of the album.  Tying a bow holds the DVD in place.  When there is no bow, the DVD slips easily off the ribbon.

Products used:
Cardstock:  Prince Charming (Bazill), Sweet Leaf (CTMH), Buttercup (CTMH)
Paper:  Caboodle Level 2 - CTMH
Ribbon - Bulk - Michaels
Embellishments - Unknown stickers from stash, Bows - Martha Stewart

Once I figure out a place, this will be my first workshop.  I will give everyone the choice of You Rock, Caboodle, or Veranda paper.  I have albums in progress using those paperpacks so stay tuned!
